Another sketch

I like this following a sketch means I don't have to think too hard.
Don't really have much time for designing with a disabled
husband to care for.
Not much time for crafting either.
Ah well that's life.

This is the sketch over at 52CCT.

Here is my take on it.

All the new dies seem to be the in thing these days so I thought
I would bring out one of my MS round the pages punches out for an airing,
just to be different.
I also intended for the panel to be placed across the bottom of the card,
but after sticking it down I realized I had the card round the wrong way.
More haste less speed.
The colouring is not flash as I was not wearing my glasses
and my Copics all need refilling.
I really am in 2 minds about Copics don't know if I like them or not,
but then what do I replace them with?
Don't know.

Am entering this in:
52CCT - Sketch
Completely Christmas - Anything goes
{PIN }spirational Challenge - Colour challenge

Thanks for dropping in.

  1. Lovely card Margaret. I was also disappointed with the copics. I only bought a few as they are very expensive here in Australia. I didn't get much use out of them, they dried up very quickly. At the moment I am using distress markers and some markers I bought 1/2 price at KMart (I think it was).

  3. A brilliant card, love the cute image and your great design.
I have a fair few Copic Pens, I feel they run out rather quickly. Mind you to be honest I think they are much the same. I have the full set if Spectrum Noir pens, they don't last that long either. However they are much cheaper.

  4. Hi Margaret
You may not have much craft time chuck but you use it very well.
Love the little details like the ribbon matching the silver on the panel.
I'm not a "colourist" so don't have any of the pens, other than 6 metallic Pro markers which are ok for what I do.
    Best wishes.

  6. I think this is so pretty! I love the pretty punched borders, the lovely image (beautifully coloured) and the lovely ribbon. Thanks so much for playing along with 52CCT this week!

I have Copic markers and Promarkers. I use both. I love the brush tip on the Copics as I find they get into smaller areas than the Promarker bullet tip. I've had my Promarkers for 4 years and not had to refill them yet. I've had the Copics for about a year and they are still going strong.

  9. Hi Margaret, that is such a pretty card! I love the lacy punched border and your sweet image is coloured beautifully! Love the blues with the silver and the sparkle, very wintery!

I tried Copics and found that they weren't for me. You do a fantastic job with them - even without your glasses LOL! - so if you enjoy using them I'd say carry on with them. I personally won't use stuff that I don't enjoy and that's why I gave up on Copics myself. I use water based dye inks and a water brush if I want to colour images in these days. I didn't have to buy anything extra as I already had my inkpads so that was a bonus! I either pick the ink up from the lid of my SU! inkpads or pat the inkpad onto a ceramic tile and then pick the ink up. Maybe try different colouring methods to see what you like best before making a decision?

Thanks so much for playing along with us at 52 {C}CT, it's always lovely to see you and I hope you can join us again soon! Ruth x

  10. Your card looks fine to me, Margaret and the sketch is recognisable. Sometimes a little twist to the basic sketch makes it more fun. As for colouring, I use Promarkers and Graph'It markers. Some of my Promarkers are over 4 years old still seem ok. I can see how alcohol markers are not for everyone. You need to play around with water based markers too before you decide. Thanks for joining our September Sketch challenge at 52 {C}CT. A new Colour challenge starts today. I hope you’ll play along. Have a lovely weekend !
